David Keefe Diamonds

Our policy at David Keefe is that the more you know the better you will be able to make the right decision when it comes to purchasing your diamond. We are happy to share our knowledge with you in store, by telephone or email.

At David Keefe, we specialise in white and colourless diamonds. We ensure the cut quality is of a very high standard to maximise sparkle and brilliance in our diamonds.  We carefully select our diamonds and gemstones to meet our own strict quality criteria which goes beyond the 4Cs. Our aim is to source beautiful diamonds without exception.

The 4C's

David Keefe applies the Gemmological Insitute of America (GIA) grading principles to ensure accurate grading of our diamonds. Diamonds 0.50ct in size and larger are certified by independant grading reports to provide assurance to our customers that the grades are accurate.

In addition to the 4C's of Carat, Colour, Clarity and Cut, at David Keefe we apply even more quality parameters to ensure our diamonds meet our own strict quality requirements.

The 5th C: Confidence

As important as the 4C's, the 5th C is Confidence.  At David Keefe, we source our diamonds from many of the world's largest international diamond merchants. We have spent many years developing relationships with diamond merchants that can meet any demand that our customers may have. We are happy to share our nearly 50 years of diamond buying experience, to make sure that our customers purchase the very best diamond to meet their own personal requirements.

Diamond Carat

The Carat of a diamond refers to the weight of the diamond. For example, a round brilliant cut diamond which measures 5.0mm in diameter should weigh 0.50cts, and one measuring 6.5mm in diameter should weigh 1.0cts.

Diamond Clarity

A billion years ago, when the diamond formed, other minerals, crystals and gases were trapped inside the diamond. After the diamond is cut and polished, any minerals and crystals remaining inside the diamond are referred to as "inclusions". The Clarity of a diamond refers to the size and positioning of these natural inclusions.

All David Keefe diamonds are natural, we do not offer treated diamonds such as diamonds which have been clarity enhanced or changed by hire pressure treatment.  Our customers can purchase with assurance, knowing that all of our diamonds have been created by mother nature, without any human influence other than cutting and polishing.

Diamond Cut

Cut refers to how well a diamond has been cut, referring to the positioning and symmetry of the facets. The Cut grade is a very important factor as it determines how brightly the diamond will sparkle, contributing directly to its brilliance.

David Keefe specialises in very good cut and excellent cut diamonds.  Many of our round brilliant cut diamonds larger than 0.50ct in size are "triple excellent cut" - - only a very small percentage of diamonds achieve this "triple excellent" cut grade and, as such, these diamonds will be the most brilliant and fiery available.
